Here’s A Rose For Our Loved Ones

Valentine’s Day is a day we celebrate love, being in love and love among mankind. Unfortunately, for some, Valentine’s Day can be sad.

Many of us have loved ones in Heaven who we miss terribly. Especially during any Holiday that is celebrated by so many.

As you get older, it isn’t just the romantic kind of love that you celebrate on Valentine’s Day. The romantic love is still celebrated, but there are many other forms of love that are celebrated too.

As you get older, you remember and celebrate all the time you’ve had with each other. You remember the good times and the bad. You remember how you supported each other and how, when things seemed really bad, you persevered, worked at it and came through a stronger, happier couple.

You remember times with your children and celebrate that love too. You remember times with friends and other loved ones and say a silent prayer to keep your friends safe.

Sometimes the grief from missing a loved one can overwhelm us and remove any desire for celebration. Grief can sneak up on us and like a thief in the night remove our joy. There is no certain time frame for grief. Everyone handles it differently. Our heart handles grief in its own way. And there is nothing we can do to change that.

Over the years, I have learned to embrace the feelings and remember all the good times with my loved ones. I try not to focus on any pain they may have been in, but remember all the blessings they had. And that’s what they would want us to do. They would want us to remember the good times.

So, here’s a rose for our loved ones who are in Heaven this Valentine’s Day. They will always be loved. They will always be missed.
