Our Country needs prayer. Please pray with me that we all show each other love, that we live peacefully with each and that we respect each other.
Please pray with me that our Country will come together. We have tremendous feelings of pain, anger, loss, uncertainty, fear and hopelessness. May this prayer bring peace to our hearts.
Dear God, Please be with the family of Mr. Floyd. Their hearts are full of pain and sadness. Please draw them close to You and let them feel Your touch.
While we cannot remove their pain, You can bring them peace and comfort during their time of grief now and in the days, months and years to follow.
Please bring together those who seek justice and those who want a peaceful resolution. Nothing is resolved if these two forces cannot work together.
Our Cities are being destroyed. Long-standing businesses have been looted and burned down. We know that You, God, are not the author of chaos and confusion.
You tell us: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. ~Colossians 3:15.
You also tell us: Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord. ~Hebrews 12:14.
And You tell us: They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. ~1 Peter 3:11.
We know You are in every Community, every City and every State. We know that You can change a situation in the blink of an eye and we know that Your power is stronger than anything in this world.
Place within our hearts a desire for Your peace. Place within our hearts a love for one another, understanding, compassion, care for humankind and a desire to bring Your peace into all situations.
Remind each person that we can do our part. We can pray. We can love one another. We can project peace and love and stay away from situations that do not have Your love and peace within them.
We lift up all people within all Cities that need Your peace and love. Remove feelings of pain, frustration and sadness and replace them with feelings of Your love and peace.
We are standing on Your promises, Lord. We know You haven’t left us, we know You are with us and we know You are the Great Healer and the Great Physician. Touch us and heal us, Lord.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Sending you blessings of love, peace and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!
