I was watching a Hallmark movie and saw a conversation between a little girl and her grandmother. The little girl was telling the grandmother about another girl in her class. She talked about how pretty she was and she told her grandmother that this little girl was going to get everything she wanted for her birthday because her parents were rich.
The grandmother asked her if the other little girl was nice. Her granddaughter shook her head and said very quickly, “No, grandmother. She’s mean to all the other girls except those who follow her around.”
The grandmother nodded her head and proceeded to tell her what really makes people rich.
To be rich is not what you have in your bank account, but what you have in your heart. ~Unknown
It isn’t money or material things that make us rich. It’s what we have in our hearts. It’s the love of family and friends. It’s what we do for others. It’s being there for other people. It’s giving to others with love and compassion. It’s extending kindness, compassion, empathy and blessings to those who would otherwise go without.
The richest people aren’t the ones with the most money. They’re the ones with the biggest hearts.
I know what you’re thinking. And yes, having money helps. It really helps. But if you have all the money you could ever spend, but you don’t have love for others in your heart, you aren’t rich at all. You just have money.
Sending you blessings of love and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!
