Let me say first that, for the most part, humans are stable, consistent animals. But every now and then, you meet someone who teaches you a valuable lesson. Have you ever known someone who is constantly “back and forth” on “life”? They may go back and forth into relationships, constantly keeping the other half of the relationship in turmoil. Or they may go back and forth on what they say. They may adhere closely to a value one day and then overnight, they change and no longer hold that value close to their heart.
If you stay, stay forever. If you go, do it today. If you change, change for the better. And if you talk, make sure you mean what you say. ~Unknown
This kind of personality is more often than not toxic to other people. It is especially bad if they are “back and forth” in a relationship. One day they seem to love you and the next day they disappear. They call you two days later and say that they “need time”. And then a few days pass and they realize they made a mistake and want to come back. And this happens over and over again. And the person being left is in constant stress and emotional upheaval.
Don’t let anyone treat you that way. Put your foot down and tell them if they are staying with you, they must commit to forever. And if they are going, tell them to go NOW.
All of us, at times, need to embrace change and let the change help us grow. But if a person changes, they need to do it for the better and if it is for the worse, you need to let them go.
Sometimes I hear someone say, “Oh, I didn’t mean that”. I am shocked when I hear people say that. Why say it if you don’t mean it? Always say what you mean and mean what you say…stand by your convictions and don’t let anyone bring you down.
