Storms Of Life

February 27, 2020 By Charity M. Richey-Bentley 10 Comments

We all go through hard times. Every single one of us. We all have a day every now and then when we struggle. And sometimes the hard times last longer than a day–maybe a week or month and some struggle for even longer.

It is in the storms where we grow, where we become stronger and better able to deal with the next storm of life.

As we are going through the storm, we may question God and His purpose for putting us through such a terrible time. You have to stop and remember that all storms are not the same.

Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear the path.

That’s right. Some storms improve your vision, some storms clear the obstacles out of the way that have held you back and some storms make the path wider, safer and faster.

There are storms that are very physically destructive. High winds, lightening strikes, and surging water can wipe out entire towns in a matter of seconds. Many people are killed each year in these storms.

There are also storms that we go through that are emotional and spiritual in nature. Our path forward is often blocked more in this kind of storm than in a physical storm that has blown trees down across our road. Because in this kind of storm, your heart and soul are going through a storm.

Remember that all emotional and spiritual storms aren’t sent to disrupt your life.

Sometimes we can’t see what is blocking our way forward. You may be in a relationship that isn’t very healthy for you. Your storm may end that relationship and clear the path for someone else for you. Someone who is better for you. Someone who loves you and respects you.

You may be in a dead-end job that you can’t move up in. You may get fired from that job. You may think the storm you are in is hurtful to you. But the storm is creating another opportunity for you to have a better job, better money, a better future for you and your family.

Next time you are going through a storm, step back and examine it. It may be there to clear your path.

Sending you blessings of love, prayer, gratitude and rest from Sterrett, Alabama!

Thank You I’m not sure of anything, the one thing I’m sure of is that God does not want me to drink and drug after that I’m easily confused on what God wants of me

    ..🍃You wrote,

..“Your storm may end a relationship and clear the path for someone else for you. Someone who is better for you. Someone who loves you and respects you”..

..So true, I began with the way I felt about myself.. We can like ourselves better today than we did yesterday.. And love and respect ourselves more than anyone else does..
I wanted to see myself through God’s eyes and not some human’s eyes..
I learned so much about myself..
..(my storm was thirty years ago when I ended my 20 year marriage and went to a battered women’s shelter with my minor children.. Because he contested the divorce for so long, the children and I ended up living there for 11 months.. My faith in God got me through it)..
