Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! There is a different feeling in the air and everyone seems happier. People give more, smile more, laugh more and interact more during the Christmas season. But Christmas can also be very stressful and it can create anxiety that dulls the shine of the overall Christmas spirit. Don’t let that happen to you.
Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure out everything all at once. Breathe. You’re strong. You got this. Take it day by day. ~Karen Salmansohn
In our today’s world, most of us do a lot for Christmas. And because we do a lot, we have to worry about getting it all done. That’s when anxiety comes in–when we start to worry.
We worry about where we have to go. There are parties at work, out with friends, with family members, parties everywhere with everyone. We worry about what to cook. We worry about where we are cooking (our home, at a family member’s home, at a friend’s place). We worry about gifts. Should you buy for the 5th cousin on your husband’s side, should you get your mother just one more present, should you return something you’ve already purchased for something different, do you have enough for the kids…
Just reading that makes you feel anxious, doesn’t it? If reading it can make you feel anxious, just think how your body and mind are responding to the stress as you are actually doing it. That’s not what Christmas is about. When you think ‘Christmas’, you should feel His peace.
Make a conscious effort to not allow anxiety to creep into your Christmas spirit. Take breaks and remember to just breathe and take it day by day. Or minute by minute. Or decision by decision.
You’re strong. You got this.
Sending you anxiety-free blessings from Sterrett, Alabama!

Don’t miss the true meaning of the season. Television would have you believe its unaffordable diamonds and cars etc. It is a very affordable relationship with the son of God that it is truly about.
