Good Morning, my friends. It’s Holy Thursday! I pray you have a positive day filled with happy moments, kindness and love. I feel so blessed to be alive, to be able to make the journey through Holy Week another year.
Thursday is a very important day of Holy Week. The Last Supper was the last meal Jesus ate with His Disciples before His betrayal and arrest. But it was so much more than just a last meal. It was also a Passover meal.
One of the important moments of the Last Supper is Jesus’ command to remember what He was about to do on behalf of all mankind: shed His blood on the cross thereby paying the debt of our sins.
In addition to predicting His suffering and death, during the Last Supper, Jesus also gave new meaning to Passover, instituted the New Covenant, established an ordinance for the church, and foretold of Peter’s denial of Him and Judas’ betrayal.
No matter where we are, we can praise God and thank Him for the Last Supper. Without the Last Supper, there would be no death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus was working God’s plan for us. He knew what was going to happen during the Last Supper and He knew His death was coming.
Many of us are going through hard times. And while we go through these hard times, we start to question our faith.
We not only question our faith, but hard times like these attack our faith. We start to question God, we worry, we have anxiety and, yes, we start to doubt God and His plan.
But on Holy Thursday before Jesus was crucified and resurrected, Jesus told His Disciples, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” ~John 6:35.
With this hug, I am sending you encouragement to keep the faith. No matter what, don’t give up, keep praying and keep believing. I wanted to pray a short, simple prayer to remind us that Jesus is the bread of life.
Dear God, Please bless our Holy Tuesday. We thank You for sending Your Son to live, die and be resurrected. We don’t know where we’d be without Jesus.
Lord, we know You are here with us and we know You are in control. We pray for increased faith. Remove our doubts, our worries and our anxieties and help us to place all our trust in You.
May we always remember that Jesus is the bread of life. And that we can always go to Him. We will not go hungry and we will never thirst.
Give us a peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
As you go through your Holy Thursday today, remember this big, caring hug. Holy Thursday Hugs!
Sending you blessings of love and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!
