I Am Blessed

I woke up really, really tired this morning.  Okay, I guess it is bad to start out a blog post that way, but it’s true.  I guess we all have those mornings.  Those mornings where we just want to pull the covers back over us, take a deep breath, snuggle in and sleep…and sleep some more.

Those are the mornings that I give myself a mental kick in the butt and tell myself to look around at all I have been blessed with.

I’ve seen better days, but I’ve also seen worse.  I don’t have everything I want, but I do have all that I need.  I woke up with some aches and pains, but I woke up.  My life may not be perfect, but I AM BLESSED. ~Unknown

You may remember that my husband and I went out to Wyoming for Frontier Days and then traveled to Cody, Wyoming to take in some of the historic sights and “feels”.  Coming back home, our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until 1:00 a.m.  That was Thursday a week ago and I just haven’t caught up on my sleep.  We haven’t really stopped since coming home…we’ve really been on the go a lot and I feel like I have run myself down and run out of energy.  I keep the above quote next to my computer in my office so that it’s always near.  I reminded myself that no matter how tired I was when I woke up, at least I woke up.  There are many families dealing with the loss of a loved one as you read this.  I can always go and take a nap this afternoon, but they’ll miss their loved ones forever.

My life isn’t perfect…far from it. But it’s a blessed life and for that I am so thankful.  If you ever hear someone say that their life is perfect, take it with a grain of salt.  No one’s life is perfect.  Life is very tough sometimes and you have to be tough sometimes in order to get through it.

Even with the tired feeling and the aches and pains that I have more often than not, I am blessed.  I am blessed to wake up, I am blessed to be given the gift of a new day.  This new day will take me closer to where I want to be.  The day gives me the opportunity to work more on my dreams and to pray and plan for bigger and better things.  God is good.

God has blessed me so.
