Some people call it Karma. I’ve always felt that the way Life happens for me is that God works in mysterious ways. Life is an echo. Oh yes, it is, my friend. You’ve heard this quote in many versions, I’m sure. What goes around, comes around. What you do to others, will be done to you…and there are many other ways to say it. But you get my drift, right?
Life is an echo. What you send out, comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you. Do not judge so you will not be judged. Radiate and give love and love comes back to you. ~Unknown.
I can’t tell you the number of times my grandmother and mother recited one of these versions to us girls growing up–me and my three sisters. It was always stressed in our home that we were to treat others the way we wanted to be treated and that if we chose to do something wrong, it would come back to us 20-fold. And I know my mother and grandmother were right. I saw over and over again how people were blessed when they blessed others. And I saw the “mean people” get their comeuppance.
I’ve recently seen first-hand how people experience the “boomerang effect”. It had to do with a person who is very passive-aggressive. I’ll call her JaneD. JaneD smiles to your face, pretends to be a friend, but all the while, she is working behind the scenes to hurt you. She is so passive-aggressive that her actions destroy her relationships and keep her constantly in a state of chaos. But, her actions are always brought to light and JaneD loses a friend, tries to make other friends, but does the same thing to them. Her actions are fed by jealousy, resentment and hatred. There’s going to come a day when she runs through the cycle of “friends” that are around her and she’ll live out a miserable life alone.
For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. ~Luke 8:17
Recently JaneD went after someone who saw into her passive-aggressive actions earlier than others have. And this person who was going to be hurt took action. JaneD is being sued for slander, harassment and loss of income. JaneD stands to lose a lot.
Life is an echo, my friends. Don’t ever forget it.
