Good Morning, My Friends. It’s a beautiful Monday and it’s Memorial Day! It’s a day of remembrance, a day of reflection and a day of gratitude.
Memorial Day is the day we remember and send up a prayer of thanks for all those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedom.
We are so blessed to live in a free Country. We are able to live the way we want to, worship the way we want to, go where we want to go and do the things we want to do.
And we are able to do this because of others who have paid the ultimate price.
Because, freedom, my friends, isn’t free. Many have paid a very high price to keep us free. And I am so thankful, so grateful to them.
There is nothing that can take away the feeling of loss when you’ve lost a loved one. But, I pray, in some small way, that you feel the love and care sent with this hug.
Because with this hug, I am saying, “For all the Soldiers who are in Heaven, may God hold them close to His heart. And May God let all their families know how brave, strong and courageous their loved ones were”.
I also wanted to send a short, simple prayer with this hug. Pray this prayer with me and receive the blessings sent with it:
Dear God, Thank You for letting us see another Memorial Day. We are thankful to have a day of remembrance and gratitude for all the Heroes who are now with You.
This day may remind us of the loved ones we have lost. But, we pray also, that each and every person praying this prayer remembers the good times they had with their loved ones and recognizes the tremendous sacrifice their loved ones have made.
Lord, hold each family member of each fallen hero close to Your heart and give them Your peace and Your comfort. Let them know You are with them and they are never, ever alone.
Take away our sadness and give us Your joy. We know that You love us and You are making a way for us. We are so happy that we are able to spend time together with our families and friends this Memorial Day.
Last year we were unable to gather together and share remembrance of our lost loved ones. But this year we can and we are so grateful, Lord.
May we never forget that freedom isn’t free and we are the Land of the free because of the brave. We are the Land of opportunity and realized dreams because of the brave.
Be with my family and friends today and let them feel Your presence. Make our Memorial Day Monday a beautiful, blessed day. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
