I’m saying it all the time…”Life is so short”. Even if we live a long, healthy life, life is so short. Can you believe that we have only 1 1/2 months left in 2017? Our Thanksgiving Holiday is next week. Before you know it, Christmas will be here. And then we move into 2018. I can honestly say that 2017 has been the fastest year of my life!
I am thankful for each day that God gives me. Each morning, as soon as I open my eyes, I say, “Thank You, God, for waking me up and letting me see another beautiful day.” Because none of us know how much time we have left.
None of us know how much time we have left on this earth. What is left in the end are your actions, the memories you left behind and how you made people feel. And what you want to leave behind is for people to remember you with love. ~Brigitte Nicole
Have you ever thought about what you are leaving behind when you leave this world? I don’t mean your loved ones or your job/career or your hobbies. I’m talking about the mark you are making in this world, your footprint that tells the world who you were and what you left behind for those who knew and loved you.
I pray that I am remembered with love. That my actions, the memories I make with people and how I made people feel all point to LOVE.
I pray that my actions are kind and loving. I pray that I do not act out of anger and that I am quick to apologize and ask for forgiveness if I do something wrong. I pray that everything I do is wrapped in compassion and care and that people can feel my love for them.
I pray that the memories I leave behind are warm and lasting. That each time someone has a memory of me and something we did together, that they smile and laugh. I pray that there are memories of fun times and I pray that they remember that I was there for them when they needed me.
And, oh how I pray to always make everyone feel that they are someone special, deserving of respect and kindness. You know the saying, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody,” right? That’s how I want to be remembered. That everyone mattered to me…because everyone does.
All of these–our actions, memories and how we make people feel–are held together by love. And that’s what I want to be remembered by…LOVE.
Sending you blessings of LOVE from Sterrett, Alabama!
