Remembering Our Loved Ones At Valentine’s

February 12, 2020 By Charity M. Richey-Bentley 3 Comments

Valentine’s Day  can be a wonderful time of the year, but it can also be sad.  Some people struggle with memories of loved ones who have passed on.  The sadness they feel in their hearts overrides the joy of Valentine’s Day.

Whether your loved ones have been gone a short period or for many years, this can be a hard time.  You want to feel joy and the love that the season can bring, but you find it so hard to do because you are missing your loved ones so much.

Everything associated with this Holiday can bring sadness if you are missing someone. The traditional roses, hearts, candy, balloons, and the feeling of “love in the air” can make you feel empty.

The one thing that has helped me the most has been prayer.  Prayer is a powerful weapon God gave to us.  I don’t know where I would be without prayer and my faith that have brought me through many hard times.  I pray for peace in my heart and soul and I pray for God to comfort me during the hard times.

And I also pray for you–that you will find peace and know His comfort for your heart.  I hope this prayer helps you.

Dear Heavenly Father, It’s hard for many right now because their hearts are broken. It’s hard to remember the good times with their loved ones because they are missing them so much. Give them Your peace and your comfort. Remind them that they will meet again. Your word promises to be near the brokenhearted and help them with their wounds. Touch their hearts and remind them of Your love for them. Help them find refreshment for their souls. Take away their sadness. Remove their worries and fears. Send to them gifts of Your love and let them feel hope in their hearts. Place Your joy in their hearts and bring smiles to their faces as they remember the good times with their loved ones. Be with them this Valentine’s Day Season!  In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Sending you prayerful blessings of love and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!

Prayer is the only healer. Thank you for these love-felt words. First Valentine without my LOVE, my husband, my hero, my best friend.
