Good Morning, my friends! Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day! It’s the day we are supposed to slow down, take it easy and relax. So, let’s do just that. Slow down and relax. Take today and just be.
How many of you have started a “to-do” list for all the things you want to get done on your “off” day? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of Labor Day?
I had started a list. I was down to about number 10 before I realized what I was doing. So, I stopped. No lists today. No thoughts about what I “must get done”. We all can take some time today and just relax.
I have been working a lot, y’all. A whole, whole lot. And I am tired. I am both physically and mentally fatigued. Probably more so than ever before.
But I am going to try and rest today. And, if you can, can you slow down? Just take today and just be? I understand that children and animals have to be taken care of.
But I mean other things you do that you could possibly take a break from. Laundry? Don’t do it. It can wait until Tuesday. House cleaning? It can wait. Early fall yard work? It can wait. Errands? Let them wait. Just take some time and totally relax.
I want to pray a simple prayer for your Labor Day. Please pray this prayer with me and believe that God hears our prayers, He is with us and He is in control.
Dear God, Thank You for waking us up on this beautiful Labor Day Monday. We are thankful that You opened our eyes and we get to spend some time with our family and friends.
Reach down and touch our bodies with Your healing touch. Remove diabetes, cancer, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease, arthritis, lupus, hypertension, addiction and all other illnesses we are struggling with.
We are all so tired. Some of us are worried about family issues and some of us are just tired of being tired.
Give us a day filled with relaxation, downtime and Your peace, mercy and favor. We know You are working things out for us and we know that You want the very best for us.
Free our minds from distractions, worries and anxieties and give us Your peace in our homes and our hearts. Bring us complete relaxation and keep a smile on our faces.
Lord, today, we choose to see all the blessings You’ve placed in our lives. We choose to praise You in spite of any troubles we may be having. We choose to thank You for all the good we have.
Give us bright, cheery skies and good food for our cook-outs. Give us hugs from family and friends. And give us a thankful heart and help us be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Sending you blessings of love and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!

I needed this blessing today. I am missing my late husband and doing some crying. I haven’t done anything else all day except have Hallmark movies on. Thank you God for the blessings today.
