Oooh, I just LOVE Christmas! It is truly the most wonderful time of the year. I love being with my family, enjoying meals together and just being. And yes, I love receiving gifts, but what I love most–what moves me the most about Christmas–isn’t the gifts and it isn’t even being with my family.
It’s once again celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Born unto us a child, who became our Savior. That is the most important “thing” about Christmas. It’s that we are able to celebrate His birth once again.
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn. ~Luke 2:7
Have you ever wondered what Mary must have been thinking? She was to give birth in a barn stall…and not just give birth, but she was to give birth to our Savior on a dirt floor, surrounded by barn animals. I believe that both she and Joseph knew everything was God’s plan. She gave birth in a barn because that is where God intended her to be.
Nothing about Jesus’ birth was coincidental. How He came to be on the earth and how He left the earth was all part of God’s plan for our salvation.
Don’t let the hustle and the bustle of the Christmas Season make you forget what Christmas is all about. Remember that it is a day for celebrating Jesus’ birth. And make sure your children and grandchildren know. Take a moment so that they will always remember why Christmas is such a big “deal” to us. Tell them that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. God bless you and your family!
Sending you blessings of love, gratitude and Christmas Love from Sterrett, Alabama!
