It’s not just any weekend, my friends. It’s Father’s Day Weekend! Let’s decide right now that our day and our weekend are going to be wonderful.
This day is going to be blessed, positive, filled with happiness and it is going to be a beautiful start to our Father’s Day Weekend.
I’m sending Father’s Day Weekend hugs your way! This hug is to bring you encouragement and to say, “God loves you, He cares for you and you are not alone”.
Depending on where you are located, this Father’s Day may be unlike the Father’s Day of years past. Some of us still cannot be close enough to our families to spend time with them.
A lot of us have older parents and they are considered a very vulnerable population when it comes to exposure to the virus.
So, you may not be able to physically be with your Father on Father’s Day, but you can share this virtual hug with him.
I also wanted to pray a simple prayer and send it with this Father’s Day Weekend hug. Please pray this prayer with me and receive the blessings sent with it:
Dear God, Thank You for bringing us through the week and to this beautiful Friday. You’ve protected us, blessed us and given us the strength to keep going.
We pray for all the Fathers who, even during the pandemic and a period of great unrest, have remained strong, and have supported and made things possible for their families.
We thank You for giving strength to our fathers and for giving them the wisdom to guide their children in the ways of God.
Thank You for fathers who teach their children to love God and all people. Fathers who show their children’s mothers love and respect.
Thank You for fathers who always try to do what is right, no matter how hard it is and no matter how unpopular it is.
Thank You for fathers who teach their children to love and respect other people, to care for and show kindness to other people.
For all the fathers who are separated from their families on Father’s Day, please wrap them in Your loving arms and let them know they are not alone.
Make our Friday a beautiful start to a beautiful Father’s Day Weekend. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
