I don’t think it’s just me. Is it? Is it just me that feels this way? I’ve reached the point in my life where I have very little tolerance for anything but peace. You may have too. If you’re reading this and you’re in your 20’s or 30’s, you may not be there yet. I wasn’t. This feeling began in my 40’s and now this quote can be used to describe me–in totality.
The older I get, the more I realize, I have little tolerance for drama, conflict & stress. I want to be around happy people, doing positive things, & enjoying life. ~Unknown
What about you? Could this quote be used to describe you too? Maybe in totality too?
I used to have a friend whose life seemed to be in a constant state of drama and stress. I say “used to” here because I haven’t talked to her in years and it isn’t that we had a falling out. We’ve just lost touch over the years. She was always in the hospital as much as she was out of it. She was hospitalized for exhaustion, stress, anxiety issues and a host of other factors having to do with stress. It was sad that she couldn’t seem to step back and let go of things she couldn’t control or change. She wanted to control all situations in her life and when she couldn’t, she would become overly stressed. Her stress would lead to anxiety and exhaustion. It was a constant cycle. I tried to encourage her to let go of those things that really stressed her, but she seemed unable to. I’m not talking about her children, husband or family. They were smaller things than that. Someone said something bad about her or her boss told her she could improve on something, etc. Each little thing become a major thing and she would get so stressed, she would be hospitalized.
That’s what you don’t want to do. You will reach the point in your life that you don’t have tolerance for any of that. You just want peace. I’m there now. I’ve been there for quite a while.
And you know what? It’s the grandest place I’ve ever been in my life! It is peaceful. It is serene. It is rewarding. It is productive. And it is mine! This grand place of peace, surrounded by happy people, doing positive things and ENJOYING LIFE!
