You’re not where you are by accident. You’re here because you’ve prayed a lot. You’re here because you’re a fighter. You’re here because you don’t know the meaning of “quit”. You’re here because you are strong.
My grandmother used to look at me and ask, “You ain’t got no quit in you, do you, girl?” I can still hear the pride in her voice when she asked it. She knew that meant I was a lot like her. She had passed down that “no quit” attitude to her daughter and my mother had passed it down to us four girls. None of us have “quit” in us.
But we all have times when we begin to wonder if we are moving forward. We feel like we take one step forward only to take ten back. And we start to worry, we lose our focus and we don’t even stop to remember how far we’ve come.
Never forget how far you’ve come. Everything you have gotten through. All the times you have pushed on even when you felt you couldn’t. All the mornings you got out of bed, no matter how hard it was. All the times you wanted to give up, but you got through another day. Never forget how much strength you have learned and developed along the way. ~Unknown
Have you ever wished there was a “life rewind button”? Not so you could go back and do anything different, but so you could look at everything you’ve done. Everything you’ve overcome and how far you’ve come. More often than not, we forget very quickly how far we’ve come because we are so focused on getting through another day, another week, another month, another year. If we could press that rewind button, we’d be amazed at how far we’ve come and we wouldn’t worry so much. When we are able to bring into focus everything that we’ve been able to accomplish, we know that we’ll get through our present situation too. Remembering how far we’ve come gives us confidence in ourselves. We know that with God, nothing is impossible for us to overcome and get through.
Our life’s journey can be hard. It can be rough. Every now and then, stop. And remember how far you’ve come and know that you’ll go even further.
Sending you blessings of love and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!
