To My Friends…
If one day you feel like crying, call me…I don’t promise that I will make you laugh, but I can cry with you.
If one day you want to run away from everything, call me…I don’t promise to ask you to stay, but I can run with you.
If one day you need someone to listen to you, call me…I promise to be there for you and I promise to be very quiet.
But if one day you call me…and there is no answer, come fast to find me…I may need you. ~Unknown
I want to be the best friend I can be because that’s the kind of friends I want to have. Those friends who are always there for you, who come to find you in the dark and bring you back into the light. The kind of friend that helps you remember the song in your heart when you have forgotten it, the kind of friend that tells you the hard, cold truth even when you may not want to hear it.
The Bible talks about good friends:
When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.
~Job 2:11
They were in agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. That’s what friends do. Friends don’t judge. Friends don’t say, “I told you so”. They are just there and provide support even if sometimes the support is in complete silence.
That’s the kind of friend I want to be and that’s the kind of friend I want to have.
Blessings to you!
Charity
