We all want or have wanted certain material possessions in our life. And most of us are willing to work very hard for what we eventually buy—our homes, our cars, vacations, and those other things that we are able to buy because we have worked our butt off for them.
But some men think that is what women want from them…that women want to be given these things by a man. And that may be true for some women. But, for the most part, women want very different things from a man than the material things he can give her.
Some men think women want money, cars, and gifts. But the right woman wants a man’s time, effort, passion, honesty, loyalty, smile and him choosing to put her as his priority. ~Charles Orlando
I’m the first to say that I love the finer things in life. I love nice jewelry and I love nice cars. I love beautiful homes and well-kept gardens. And horses? Well, y’all know me when it comes to horses. I’m smiling. But these are not things I want given to me by my husband. I’m perfectly willing to earn them. Together we have made a wonderful life and we have both built it.
You want to know the very best part of my day? It’s when my husband and I do daily devotional. We do it every single morning. Following devotion, my husband prays for our families and our work. He always ends the prayer with a prayer for us—me and him—that we will draw closer to God and closer to each other.
There is no greater gift that my husband can give me than the time that we have with each other. And yes, we have more time together throughout the day, but this is a special gift and I am gifted daily. And this time reaffirms and validates his love for me every day. I am so grateful.
There is no doubt in my mind that I am my husband’s priority. And he is mine. And what a wonderful gift to give each other.
