Love The People God Gave You

October 1, 2017 By Charity M. Richey-Bentley 3 Comments

Love the people God gave you, because…He will need them back one day.
Think about that.  For just one moment.  Every single person in your life is there for a reason.  You may not understand the reason for everyone in your life, but there is a reason.  For each and every one.

I’ve been out of town for a few days.  You may have caught my quick live video I did at the beach–if not, you can see it here–>> Beach Relaxation.
My husband and I, and my mom and dad went to Destin for a few days to catch the last days of summer in Destin, Florida.  It was a great, relaxing time.  We didn’t really do anything extraordinary–we just hung out together and bonded.  And that, my friends, was absolutely, positively EXTRAORDINARY.  I’m trying to spend every second I can with my mother and daddy.  I know that I won’t have them for very many more years and I just want to do everything I can with them.

On Wednesday, we were all just hanging out and Mother received a phone call.  You remember I had told y’all about the horse that is “visiting” with us?  Remember her owner had gone into the hospital and the family had asked us to take her in while he recovered?  Well the phone call was to tell my mother that he had passed away.  Just like that.  We had been told that he was getting better and my mother and daddy had visited him and they thought he was going to come home.  But he didn’t come home and he is never coming home again.  It is so heartbreaking.  He looked up to my daddy like a father and my dad is crushed.  It all happened so fast.  I know that he was in our lives for a reason.  And I will always believe that dad was so close to him because Tommy really needed him as the father figure in his life.  Tommy wasn’t married, he had no children and he would often be at my folks’ home just to hang out.  My dad often helped him do things–out in the pasture, in the barn–whatever he needed doing, dad helped him.  God puts the people in your life that you need at that moment.  Don’t ever forget that.  Either your heart needs something from them or their heart needs something from you.

Love them.  Cherish them. Spend quality time with them.  Because one day, God will need them back and you won’t have them on the earth any more.  And if you ever see anyone who you think needs a friend, someone to talk to, someone to hang with, be that friend.  Give them a call.  Ask them to meet for a cup of coffee.  Ask them to go for a ride with you.  We all need people.  All of us.  It’s who we are as human beings.  You never know.  Reaching out to someone can change a person’s whole outlook on life.

And the “visiting” mare that belonged to Tommy?  I guess she is “visiting” no more.  I guess she has officially become a member of The Horse Mafia.

Blessings!

Charity

My siblings treat me like the black sheep of the family! My children want to blame me for everything that went wrong in life. I have no real friends. With the exception of my dog and bird. I can’t afford a horse. I have turned to God, in hopes that he will show me the way. My father, mother, older brother and older sister are gone. I have three half sisters and 1 half brother. I can only communicate with two of the sisters through Facebook. Which is minimal. I am going to be 60 years old and I have to find a better life. I find a horse Mafia to be very inspirational. Thank you
