Good Morning, My Friends! I pray that your Sunday has begun with a smile on your face and God’s peace in your heart. No matter where you are as you are reading this, just know that I am saying a prayer for you right now.
If you love someone, pray for them. Pray for their peace. Pray for their growth. Pray for their success. Pray for their happiness.
I have seen what prayer for a loved one can do. And I have also seen what prayer can do when you have someone who doesn’t like you, who doesn’t want the best for you.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteousness. ~Matthew 5:44-46
Praying for those who mistreat you and persecute you is a very hard thing to do…at first. I have found that you get better at it with practice. Several months ago, I made a post about the above Bible verse. I immediately got an email telling me that I was so wrong-that the Bible says to treat people the way the treat you. I responded back and said that the Bible does not say that.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. ~Luke 6:31.
In other words, treat people the way you want them to treat you. I get it. I know why I get emails like that. It almost seems impossible. To actually pray for someone who has hurt you. Hurt you on your job, hurt you at school, hurt you by bad-mouthing you, etc. But if you pray for them, you’ll be amazed at what God does for your heart.
He will give you such sweet peace and remove that hurt and pain. And you will grow so much in your walk with God.
I pray that your week ahead is filled with kind people, positive thoughts and happy moments. May God use you to shine His love and goodness for all to see. May others look at you and know that you have the love of God shining from your heart. May others look at you and know that you walk closely with Christ and that you want the best for others.
Sending you love, blessings and gratitude from Sterrett, Alabama!
